FLOODPLAIN PROGRAM
Pettis County
joined the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) May 1, 1994. The ordinance
covering all the rules, regulations and penalties is ordinance 2-99 #284. A
copy of this ordinance can be obtained at the Pettis County
Clerk's Office.
The Legislature of the State of Missouri has it in the
Missouri Revised Statutes, that Section 49.600 delegates the responsibilities
to local government units to adopt flood plain management regulations designed
to protect the health, safety and general welfare.
